Services We Offer

Events

Boots on the Water is a heart-felt, purpose-driven event that brings together U.S. military veterans for a day of catfishing, camaraderie, and connection on the water. Hosted by passionate anglers and volunteers, this event provides veterans with a free fishing experience- no cost, no pressure, just peace, and support.

Each participant is paired with an experienced boat captain who provides gear, expertise, and a day entirely focused on the veterans enjoyment.

Our next event will begin with a meet and greet October 10th, 2025 at 6:00pm at the Veterans Club in Manchester, OH. We will be having a light meal, provided by the Veterans Club and boats captains will be paired with veterans at this time. October 11th, 2025 will be a day of fishing on the Ohio River. Everyone will meet at Island Creek Mound Campground and Marina- 8801 US Highway 52 Manchester, OH 45144. Fishing begins at 8:00am, be sure to arrive early. Fishing will end at 4pm. We will then have introductions, a meal, and giveaway.

We are still accepting boat captains for this event, veteran/active service members, donations, and sponsors. Donation/Sponsorship information below. All donations are tax deductible. feel free to contact us with any questions.

Solo Trips

Boots on the Water is proud to help coordinate solo fishing trips for veterans.

For many service members, the return to civilian life can bring battles that others might not see- stress, anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of trauma. Time spent in nature, especially on the water, has proven to be deeply therapeutic. From the peaceful stillness of the outdoors, to the thrill of hooking up with the first fish, the outdoors can offer clarity, calm, and healing.

We are partnered with willing boat captains across multiple states willing to provide veterans with exactly that experience- a peaceful day where they can breathe, reflect and reconnect.

Solo trips are completely free of charge, hosted by an experienced angler. Each trip includes necessary gear, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors without any pressure.

Tackle Tribute

Equipping Those Who’ve Served. Honoring Those We’ve Lost.

Tackle Tribute is a fishing gear donation program created by Boots on the Water to support veterans, active duty service members, and Gold Star families. We believe that time on the water by boat or on the bank can be deeply healing- and everyone deserves the chance to experience it.

Whether you are picking up a rod for the first time or looking to reconnect with a favorite past time, Tackle Tribute can provide quality fishing gear to those in need to get started.

The goal of this program is to not only remove financial barriers- but to create an open invitation to find peace, purpose, and community through fishing.

Tackle Tribute is one way of saying: You’ve given enough. Now let us give something back.

We are accepting tackle donations, please fill the form by clicking the link above.
